Blender Game Making Challenge 18 - Gravity

Image
The Theme will be GRAVITY. You can do whatever you want, but you have to use gravity in a creative way. Try using Zero Gravity or something like that. Go crazy! I´m looking forward to what you can come up with. I decided on this theme, because I liked the idea of having space as a theme, but I thought gravity would be more interesting. Hope it won´t be too hard. You have time till the start of the competition now, to come up with a game concept, but please don´t start creating your game yet.

The Blender Game Making Contest (or BGMC for short) is a week-long competition where people of the community make games relevant to contest's theme. The Theme: The theme will be announced at the start of the competition Rules! 1- No limits! As many polys and textures as your computer can handle. Originally posted by Smoking_mirror at http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?379966-BMGC-Winners-otto001-and-Blenderrendersky So another Blender Game making contest draws to a close. Congratulations to everyone who took part, it was a close finish, and for a while it looked like everyone was going to win. The gold medal, and grand prizes go to Otto001 and Blenderrendersky. Nice job on the winning game, it was my personal favorite, even with a massive bug where I couldn't save any people at all, I still really enjoyed it. Blenderrendersky has uploaded an updated version of Fireman with some improvements suggested by players, so go and give it a try if you haven't already. Silver goes to Thatimster, for his Discrete fishing, which I thought had the very best Easter egg of the competition. the second time he's come second AFAIK. Congratulations! Third place is split between Adriansnetlis with his thrilling Golden Reel Fishing, and twisterGE, whose R...

The Theme/Rules: Your goal is to make a game about water. This is perhaps one of the most interesting themes I've seen so far, since there's such a broad spectrum of things you can do with it. It doesn't have to be set on or in water, it could be about being in a desert and trying to find water, or it could be about water vapor (clouds and rain). There are lots of water sports, fishing games, animal sims etc... that could be made...

A really good result since Wallmaster came to the competition late and only had 2 nights to work on the game. Congratulations also to RockyMadio's Kaily - the Canceller which only missed 3rd place by 1 vote. It was a gorgeous game and I'll certainly be following RockyMadio's other projects from here on. Blender Game Making Challenge 13 - Theme announcement

Image
THE CHALLENGE: The blender game making challenge is pretty simple. Make a complete game, using the blender game engine, start and finish, in a week. The official start is Sunday the 17th, 12:01 AM and it ends Saturday the 23rd at midnight. The challenge is a competition amongst your peers, but also a challenge to yourself, to push your planning, game making, and polishing skills out of your normal comfort zone. This is how we improve. THE THEME: It’s easy to make a game using the full force of your modern computer, but it’s harder when you must develop for a specific platform/console. This game making challenge will revolve around hardware requirements and resource allocation for one of the first consoles capable of 3d: the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. This way you may not be fully able to rely on amazing graphics and HD modeling to make your game good (prove me wrong) so your game might have to rely on solid gameplay mechanics instead. Here are the slightly modifie...

BGMC 12 Theme Announced!

Hey, all, Joystik Studios with an update to the challenge. The theme has been announced! Here it is: Olympic Sports! With the winter Olympics recently over in Socii, Russia, I decided to have you guys make game themed off of those sports. This would also include summer Olympic sports. Here are the rules: You have to choose one sport from this list  to make a game of. It can be from the Summer or Winter category. You may only use resources that you have created during the week you have to make your game, except for pre-written python scripts. Any resources from the Game Engine Resources section are alright, too. You must announce where you got your pre-made resources if you used any, so that others can use them too. The only exception to this is this basemesh , because I know what a pain character modeling is. There is another link on the page to a female version if you like. They are low-poly and game ready. The reason I chose this theme is because of how hard physics are in ...

BGMC 12 Is Coming Soon!

Hey, all! This is Joystik Studios, the winner of the last BGMC, and I will be organizing this one. The challenge will be held on the 10th of March, 2014. The theme will be announced the day before the challenge. For those of you who are new to this challenge, the BGMC is the Blender Game Making Challenge, a week long challenge where Blender users make a game based off the theme. The winners are chosen by a judging panel and prizes are distributed to the winners. The judges consist of, do far, 3 people. Myself, Thatimster, and a SixGunBen, who is not on Blenderartists or anything as of yet. Now, I've got my own reasons why I chose these judges. First, we have Thatimster, who is pretty self-explanatory. I mean, come on, it's Thatimster! I'm pretty self-explanatory, too. SixGunBen is a Blender user but is not an avid game developer, however, he is an extreme gamer. This will give him some extra insight into how good gameplay and graphics are and such. Sinan, another game d...
